Om Shanti Om

Om Shanti Om is a forthcoming Bollywood film to be directed by Farah Khan. It stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.

Farah Khan who had earlier directed the film Main Hoon Na (2004) with was supposed to do Happy New Year but later scrapped that project to do this film.

The film's score and soundtrack are composed by the musical duo, Vishal-Shekhar with lyrics by renowned lyricist, Javed Akhtar. Composer A.R.Rahman opted out of this movie, as T-Series did not agree to share the copyrights of music with him and the lyricist.

The film is said to be based on reincarnation. Shooting of the film began in January 2007 at various locations in India. Over 30 of the Bollywood's hottest stars are putting in a guest appearance for a special song in the film. The film is slated for release on November 9, 2007.

The film is planning to release at 2,000 prints.

So many special appearances, i guess i would be a record of indian film industry to have this many special appearances in a single movie.

Film's music is really good. I have heared three of the songs and they are really good. Although I recently discovered an articles about Javed Akhtar explaining lyrics in 'Om Shanti Om' as 'dumb'.

Shahrukh Khan - King Khan of Bollywood

Shahrukh Khan (born November 2, 1965) (Hindi: शाहरुख़ ख़ान, Hindko: شاہ رخ خان) is a highly acclaimed Bollywood actor, producer, and recent host of the game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. He is considered to be one of the most influential actors in Indian cinema.

Khan started out his career appearing in several television serials in the late 1980s. He made his film debut with the hit Deewana (1992), and has been part of numerous commercial successes, delivering a variety of critically acclaimed performances as well. During his career years, he has won six Filmfare Best Actor Awards, and has had significant box office success, with films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), being some of Bollywood's biggest hits, while films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Veer Zaara (2004) and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006) are the biggest Bollywood hits in the overseas market. Since then, Khan has established himself as one of the most prominent leading actors in Bollywood. Since 2000, he has branched out into film production and television presenting as well.

In September 2007, he found himself courting controversy after appearing in an advert for Fair and Handsome, a men's skin lightening cream available in India.
